It is believed that centuries ago a Roman soldier named Gurianum received this place as a gift. Guran was later named after him. Nowadays, on the hill south of the small village there are ruins of an ancient Guranium.

Back in the 1900's our family purchased the building in Guran, not knowing what impact it will have on the fourth generation of the family together with children and grandchildren. In the year 2004, the family began to restore this old building while preserving its local characteristics (wood and stone) and the original beauty of the Istrian landscape in which the house is located.

Guran has significant historical and cultural heritage, its remains are stored in Vodnjan palace, and the location is nowadays the site of the remains of several churches/basilicas. Its medieval name was Gropi or Old Guran, and the place was first mentioned in 1908, as Guranis. Gropi/Old Guran is located about 100 meters from the present settlement. Gropi has a parallelogram shape with smooth walls, the ground is paved with stones that are still preserved in some places and visible, and the brick wall has the design of fish bones.

From 2002 to 2008, this area was the location of various research projects covering the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The excavations were the location of the discovery of the remains of a prehistoric triangular-shaped handles, pottery, cookware from the Middle Bronze Age, around the year 1500 BC and 2800 BC.

Holiday home

Holiday home Bozac has three floors (ground floor, first floor and attic), on the total living area of 104 m2. House has a separate entrance, and it is surrounded by a stone wall and a garden with aromatic herbs (lavender, sage and rosemary).

Ground floor

The ground floor is entered through a small hallway that leads into the living room with a minibar, TV-SAT, pull-out leather sofa set, and air conditioning that provides heating and cooling. The same hallway leads to a bathroom with a shower and a toilette, equipped with washing machine and heater.

Ground floor also features a kitchen with fireplace, equipped with kitchen counters, refrigerator (with a small space for freezer), dishwasher, and stove (3 gas burners, 1 hot plate, electric oven), microwave, kettle, toaster, deep fryer, coffee machine and air conditioner that is used only for heating. A door from the kitchen leads to covered terrace (20 m2) in the back of the house, near which there is a large children's playground (sandpit, swings, goals for soccer, slide, equipment for training) and a swimming pool (6x4x1, 30) with a shower. The backyard of the house covers approximately 2500 m2.

First floor

In the above-mentioned entry hallway there is staircase leading to the hallway on the first floor that features two bedrooms and another bathroom and toilet.

Orange Room has a double bed, one single bed and a cot, a large wardrobe with mirror, a small table with two chairs, and two bedside tables with lamps. This room has a view of the children's playground, olive grove and swimming pool.

Amor Room has a double bed, a wardrobe, leather ottoman for seating, and two bedside tables with lamps. The window of this room has a view of the entrance of the house and its fragrant herb garden.

Attic Room is located in the attic, and reached by the stairway from the first floor. This rooms has three single beds with bedside tables and lamps, and one wardrobe. This room is suitable for children, as its height is limited. Air conditioning in the attic provides both cooling and heating. The window of this room has a view of children's playground, olive grove and swimming pool.
